Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using BookFlix ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. BookFlix is operated by MacBobby Chibuzor ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and us.

You must be at least 13 years old to use BookFlix. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate information when creating your account
• Keep your login credentials confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
• Not share your account with others

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

BookFlix Premium is offered as a monthly auto-renewable subscription. When you subscribe:

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase
• Your subscription automatically renews monthly unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID Settings → Subscriptions
• No refund is provided for any unused portion of a subscription period

Credits (In-App Currency)

BookFlix Credits ("BC") are an in-app currency used to unlock features such as soundscapes, AI recaps, and companion content. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.

Apple as Payment Processor

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple's payment terms and refund policy apply. We do not have access to your payment card or billing information. Refund requests must be directed to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

You agree not to:

• Use the App to harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Post content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes the rights of others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or overload our systems
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Upload or distribute malware, spam, or unlicensed copyrighted content
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent a suspension or ban

We reserve the right to remove content and terminate accounts that violate these rules, without prior notice.

When you post reviews, highlights, notes, or other content in BookFlix ("User Content"), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content within the App and its features. You retain ownership of your User Content. You represent that you have the rights to post it and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

The App, its design, code, and all original content (excluding User Content and third-party book data) are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the App without our written permission.

Book metadata, cover images, and descriptions are sourced from third-party providers (including Google Books and publisher data) and are subject to their respective terms.

The App integrates third-party services including Firebase, RevenueCat, and Google Books. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

BookFlix is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. AI-generated content (recaps, scene descriptions, companion dialogue) is for entertainment purposes only and may be inaccurate. We are not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, or for any other reason with reasonable notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Credits are non-refundable upon termination unless required by law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and notify you inside the App. Continued use of BookFlix after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of Nigeria, except where prohibited by applicable law.
